This is just an excuse for more photos, this time of 3 battalions of SYW Prussian Line infantry and of course some marvellous GMB flags.

In all honesty I have got some of the painting detail wrong but heyho, they look good and they will get corrected in due course.Based upon the fabulous ‘Lace Wars by Funcken, these regiments are 1st,22nd,34th albeit some detail on colouring needs to be corrected

Finally got to finish off (well almost) some figures that have been needing to be finished, not least because they are very nice figures in their own right and the more time you have to spend on them the more detail you find.

I have painted them as Jung-Modena and Erzherzog Josef Dragoons and have included in the same scene as the Serbelloni Cuirassiers. There is still detail unpainted but I hope you get the overall effect.

I have also completed some French Revolutionary infantry in tarleton helmets – 42nd Fusiliers  and some guys in bicornes. They are some of our finest figures and for sure on a par with our new Spanish

Timing is everything they say.

Please have a look at our shop now and when you click on a figure reference you will see a decent thumbnail photo which will connect to an enlarged photo showing the figures in proper proportions.

We know things are still incomplete as we have dozens of even hundreds of photos to add and the catalogue to update, so watch this space.

We are very much aware of a current teething problem we have with the photos of our figures not loading up properly which has attracted some attention – and some helpful advice. We have been promised a fix which should be with us in the next 24 hours so fingers crossed all will be well.

We appreciate this is quite trying, but not as trying perhaps as it is for us.

Apart from this we are continue to photograph new product including Russian Horse Artillery, Wurtemburg, Italian and other stuff, to augment our existing ranges.

Lastly I would like to thank all our customers, particularly those who got to SELWG’s show at Crystal palace and made it one of our best ever events – we would like to thank the SELWG team who we thought did a very professional job.

It has been a while since we updated our news section but we have not been idle in the meantime.

Firstly some new releases:

  • Spanish - At last our Spanish Hussars are now in production after almost a year of work. The figures are we believe some of our sculptor’s finest, which after many trials and challenges on the casting and moulding side are now ready to go into full production, complete with new horses.
  • Italian and Neapolitan - Also now available are Italian and Neapolitan Mounted Chasseurs complete with elite company, developed from our existing ranges. We intend to expand this range quite significantly.
  • Austrian and Russian Artillery Crew - We are pleased to bring out our new Austrian Foot and Russian Foot and Horse artillery crew, to add to an already extensive list of Russian figures (including artillery pieces), and a growing list of Austrian figures.
  • Austrian Infantry - We have added an infantryman in greatcoat, Grenz and advancing landwehr figures as step one in an expansion of this range.
  • Swedish Artillery Horse and Limber Team - A completely new challenge for us was to create a 6 horse artillery limber team for the uniquely styled limber for our Swedish range, including troopers and additional horse artillerymen.

Secondly old stuff:

After much thought and careful consideration we have decided to take some radical steps with respect to our existing ranges to ensure that we can continue to provide a good product that our existing and importantly future customers continue to select amongst the growing array of product out there.

Some of our production moulds are too many years old and some of our figures need reworking, but as our business is a part time hobby business, we know that we cannot invest the amount of time and money to replace all the moulds etc that we should, in a way that the larger competitors could for whom their business is a full time occupation.

In practice this means that we therefore have to focus upon providing figures that both are a compliment to our competitors, which are nevertheless somehow exclusive yet at good prices and good quality and to balance this with being able to satisfy requests for legacy stock.

We are therefore going to concentrate our efforts on 28mm Napoleonic and Seven Years War, including cutting out some of these figures from our ranges and replacing them with new.
